BARBARA BEND / STUDIO ARTIST

BARB AND WOMAN.tiff

Barbara Riegel Bend is a Fiber Artist, who came to this medium through years of exploring multiple facets of the fiber arts after getting her BA in Applied Arts and her MS in education.  She taught in the elementary and middle school classroom for many years at that same time learned about spinning, weaving, natural dying, quilting, felting and eventually welding. She has developed a unique technique of creating forms, people, and animals from the buried gems of cultural remnants, she transforms the inert object into a living idea and emotional connections.
